Smartswinggolf.com was my first web project as both sole designer and sole programmer of an e-commerce site. Over the course of two years, I integrated multiple e-commerce components including shopping carts, affiliate managers, coupon modules, and custom functionality via third party API. Working on the SmartSwing site greatly increased my knowledge of JavaScript, CSS, and the document object model through multiple browsers.

The integration of third party shopping carts is a substantial challenge regarding a consistent look & feel. On the SmartSwing site, I used every trick in the book (iframes, JavaScript includes, available server side code, etc.) to tweak the layout and functionality to meet our needs.

The products page, like most other pages, contained a javascript include for right-hand column news and events items. This allowed for a single file edit to perpetrate the entire site — easily updating frequently changed content across multiple pages.

The club configurer is cross-browser JavaScript based system for allowing a customer to easily personalize his or her club prior to purchase.
When SmartSwing switched e-commerce providers, I added a hidden product code constructor and a back-door form submission to bypass the convoluted and difficult to use “product matrix” of said e-commerce provider.

SmartSwing Product Tour
I created this HTML based product tour in the summer of 2005. In addition to the SmartSwing website, it was included on CDs for the press, clubfitter software CDs, and marketing CDs. The tour is a single HTML file with multiple content swaps to avoid page reloads.

Locke Liddell & Sapp is a Texas based law firm. I designed their corporate website in the spring of 2000 while working at FG Squared.
LLS was FG Squared's first major web endeavor and it was the first time I worked on a web site that involved a major information architecture effort.
This design lasted 3 years and was updated in June of 2003.

In 2004, I was hired in a freelance designer to redesign the ClearCommerce website.
ClearCommerce was bought by Efunds shortly thereafter and the newly designed site never came to fruition.

My wife started her own law practice in the Spring of 2004. Shortly thereafter, I created both her corporate website and company paper system (letterhead, business cards, envelopes, etc.).
Designing her site was a welcome change to the typically tech-centric clients that I work for. Her office has an elegant almost Parisian feel that I wanted to reflect in the site design.
While I usually purchase stock photos for web design, with Natalie's site I was able to use my own photography for the upper image bars.

Colabranet Website
Colabranet.com went live in December of 2001. The site was programmed by my co-worker at the time, Simeon Kessler. We had the luxury of working directly with the CEO to produce a simple, easily navigable and informative web site.
Shortly after its completion, this site lead a major potential customer to the Colabranet sales team based on a google search for “sales automation software”. The company (Sigmatel) eventually signed on with Colabranet — proving to me that simplicity, search engine optimization, and good, relevant content are key when designing for the web.
